昆州政府到悉尼办会展 招募吸引专才北上





10月9日消息   昆士兰州政府计划在未来的两年内，吸引1500名新州人前往昆州工作。上周末，100多家昆州政府部门、企业公司、市政府和发展公司在悉尼举办了工作与生活展，展示昆州提供的工作机会与生活方式。

据《悉尼晨锋报》报道，昆士兰州州长Anna Bligh上周五第一次正式访问了悉尼并出席了展览。她说，昆州的气候在世界上是数一数二的，而且拥有一些世界级的海滩。她认为昆州的经济强劲，也有很多有长期保障的工作机会。她说：“比起悉尼，昆州的生活费、住房花费都较低，而且布里斯班今天的汽油价钱比悉尼低了9分钱。”

Anna Bligh还透露主要的工作机会是在健康业、服务业、旅游业、农业和建筑等方面。活动主办者说，去年在悉尼举办一个类似的展览后，有1000人得到了工作职位。

但是新州商会会长Kevin McDonald指出，这种跨州的技术人员召招募，只是把人手短缺的问题从一个地区挪到了另一个地区。他认为新州拥有多元性的经济，工资也较高。而“昆州则有医院混乱、道路拥挤、房价膨胀及水利基础设施投资不足等问题。”他说：“昆州的税比新州低，是因为新州通过GST消费税为昆州提供了多方面的资助。”

新州反对党财务发言人Mike Baird表示，新州在过去三个月中，有6331名居民迁移别的州。他认为新州州长伊曼（Morris Iemma）应该立即降低收入税，以鼓励更多的商家在新州投资。

据悉，这次的展览已有150名健康医疗业的专业人士事前就注册要出席展览。反对党医疗事务发言人Jillian Skinner说，新州政府对待医疗系统的方式，也在鼓励专业人员移往昆州。






Expo aims to lure workers north

NSW workers are being lured north with the Queensland government aiming to recruit at least 1,500 of them over the next two years.

More than 100 Queensland government departments, businesses, councils and development groups have set up at the Sydney showground this weekend as part of a work and lifestyle expo showcasing what the state has to offer.

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh attended the expo on Saturday, in her first official visit to NSW.

She said Queensland had one of the best climates in the world and some of the best beaches.

"With such a strong economy and such big challenges for labour, there is a very large supply of jobs and long term security around those jobs," Mrs Bligh said.

"But that all comes in a very attractive package.

"A lower cost of living, lower cost of housing particularly by comparison with Sydney, petrol today is nine cents cheaper in Brisbane than it is in Sydney."

Mrs Bligh said health, hospitality, tourism, agriculture and construction were all key areas of recruitment.

Event organisers said a similar exhibition held in Sydney last year resulted in 1,000 job offers.

But the NSW Business Chamber said interstate raids simply juggled the skills shortage around Australia.

NSW Business Chamber president Kevin MacDonald said NSW had a diversified economy and high real wages.

"Queensland's taxes are lower than NSW and that is because NSW subsidises Queensland through the GST system," Mr MacDonald said.

"Troubled hospitals, clogged roads, rising house prices and an under-investment in water infrastructure are all issues in Queensland."

NSW opposition finance spokesman Mike Baird said NSW had lost 6,331 residents to interstate migration over the last quarter.

"The Iemma Labor government should immediately reduce payroll tax to encourage further business investment and offer more incentives to both large and small businesses to stay in NSW," Mr Baird said.

Opposition health spokeswoman Jillian Skinner said the state government's treatment of the health system was also driving health professionals to Queensland, with 150 health workers pre-registering for the expo.

"Anna Bligh's raid on our health professionals at this weekend's Queensland On Show conference should come as no surprise given Morris Iemma's poor treatment of our health system as evidenced by the troubled Royal North Shore Hospital," she said.
