I am surprised that you guys actually read stock tipping newsletters. But I guess it's good for reading up on the market sentiment. Can anyone recommend a good source of investment fund researches?
Oh, man. They are not what you think. It actually, depends upon how you use them. ASR often summarises company reports for traders, and thus substanitally shorten your reading time on them, after that they also give their ideas on multi-aspects of the stocks. As a normal investor/trader,I don't have expertise on all the hard work. For example, when the merger things are passed onto ACCC, I would often have no idea myself whether a particular merger proposal will be passed or not. But they are different, it's part of their day job to keep track on every mergers that ever happened with ACCC, so they will have some sound reasonnings on whether a merger proposal will likely to be passed based on the natures of the merger parties and the past solutions done by ACCC.
FNArena has many good articles about companies, sectors and the overal economics. They talked to investment banks, brokers and analists worldwide. When Andy Xie was still with Morgan Stanley, He often provided his thoughts on FNArena. Also, FNArena shows all the stock ratings given by leading brokers.
Good tips is not about "it's gorgeous! Just go and have a bite", it should run through thorough research and base on some solid reasonning. It's not about 'give or take', it's just aggregated contribution, screen out the garbage, remain the gold, that's part of the process.
