Check your speedometer and then read the question carefully.
Are you required to click the mouse to GO or is it too SLOW?
It is common to leave the mouse alone to answer correctly, no clicking.
The most common cause of failing is to be too jumpy and click the mouse too early!
believe there's a pool from where the questions are pulled, so you may not get the same ones as me, but here are some tips:
1. Practice the examples from the VicRoads website - I got all 4 examples in my actual test!
2. If you get any examples that have trams, watch the tram's break lights! I had 4 questions where I had to click when I would slow down whilst following a tram - as soon as you see it's back lights go red, clickity click!
3. You will get at least one example where you must make an emergency break - possible examples are a jogger on the footpath who suddenly runs onto the road, or a small child who runs out onto the road behind a 4WD - click/break as soon as you see them head for/step on the road.
4. If driving down a country road and you see a road sign for dust, break as soon as a dust cloud forms behind the car in front of you.
5. Make sure you know WHEN is safe to overtake other vehicles.
6. Use your common sense and don't be click-happy - some of the examples require no clicking at all, if you're sure you don't need to take any action, then don't click that mouse.
You only need 55% to pass, so as long as you know what you're doing on the roads
Hazard Perception, or Low Risk Driving, is being able to identify potential crash situations before it is too late. This includes pedestrians crossing the road, cyclists, road works, building sites, other vehicles stopping in front of you or entering from side roads and many other dangerous situations that present hazards.
Traveling through a side street lined with parked cars, a child steps out. Approaching a green light at 70 km/h, a pedestrian steps onto the road.
Speedo reads 80 km/h while you are on a bend; that is probably a bit quick.
Approaching a green light at 60 km/h and the lights go yellow suddenly.
Approaching a green light and the oncoming vehicle turns in front of you.
Approaching a right turn (green light) and a motorcycle is approaching (but is hidden).
Following a vehicle and a cloud of dust appears under that vehicle.
Warning sign for bad road conditions while cruising at 80 km/h.
Following a tram, it gradually slows down, very hard to pick though.
Following a bicycle at 20 km/h, choosing a time to overtake it. |
