• Hotcopper has been established the longest, that's why I am not surprised with their ranking. Their discussion on a particular stocks isquite extensive and stretches over a long period of time. Their most impressive feature is their Statistics, it keeps tally of top 10 daily/monthly/to-date users who post most posts; most discussed stocks, and even blacklist of banned members.
  
• AusssieStockForum has the same design as Shares.com.au; it probably has best discussion on general ASX market. It also has a better layout in providing variety discussions like Derivatives, Commodities, Forex and International Market. I also like its Live Chat and Blogs functionality. The new design has made it more user friendly.
  
• Shares.com.au has relatively short history, but is growing at tremendous pace. It has best coverage and discussions on IPOs (imho). Its weekly and annual tipping competition are also well structured to attract members.
  
• Topstocks.com.au is only ASX stock discussion forum where members are ranked according to the success and failure of their stock tips and bets. They have both free and paid accounts, member consensus reports and sentiment summaries can be easily accessed.  Personally I think it has the best presentation, nice graph/charts for individual stocks.
  
• Sharescene.com was voted by Compareshares.com.au as the best forum for 2008, I don’t think the ranking is not really authoritative enough. However, it has some of the best Hi-Tech functionalities include ShareScene TV (Video Finance/Market updates); ShareScene Radio (Interviews with listed companies CEO, MDs and economists from major banks). They are absolutely FREE.
  

Above are just my thoughts and researches, not based on anyone else's surverys or studies.

Thank you for sharing this information.
I find AussieStockForum to be fairly good. The quality of contribution from forumites is very good. There are some very good people contributing there. The coverage is not bad but sometime I find  that stocks I am interested in is not covered or their threads have been inactive for a long time. Maybe it's just me looking at places no one is looking. Generally not bad.

I just noted that the members in topstocks can ask questions directly to the CEO of list companies. not sure other website got this service or not.
I often check hotcopper.

Any investor can email/call company CEO/secretary directly to ask questions about the company. It's the company's duty answer any questions investors might have provided they do not give out privileged information not disclosed to the general market.

你这排名是三个月平均,我们才开张三个多月,不能反应真正情况,每周排名更切合实际吧.

除了最后一个没上过之外，我基本都上过一段时间。HOTCOPPER是比较热门，不过会员的素质很参差，有的人技术和人品都很烂，水贴也不少；AUSSIESTOCKFORUM的帖子平均素质比较高，就是会员的参与度不是很足，有的贴N久都没人顶，热门股的贴也是这样；SHARES.COM.AU的一个显著特点是有IPO的转贴，这个是我非常喜欢的，我也参与过一些热门IPO的讨论，至于其它股票版没有具体看过，说不上什么；TOPSTOCKS在免费试用的时候我JOIN过，不过后来要收钱的时候我没有再续了，不是很相信那个CONSENSUS的使用价值。

Having said that, 6park.com users come from these countries:
United States22.4%; United Kingdom12.2%; Japan11.4%; Canada9.9%; Australia7.1%

Whereas Oursteps.com.au users come from these countries:
Australia97.3%; United States2.1%; Other countries0.6%

Clearly, Oursteps.com.au is a "genuine" Australian-Chinese focused website, compared to "United Nation" style website for 6park.com

还是喜欢hotcoper,人多热闹,虽然鱼龙混杂,但信息多.比如imi的论坛,长期有公司的十大股东之一发帖,今天就提前10分钟提示trading halt. topstocks的功能也不错,不过pro要收费,比hc也冷清不少...
