Henan in Sydney(这次游行来的是河南代表团)

Henan Province, home to China’s oldest recorded dynasty and thriving modern cities, is coming to Sydney to showcase all the attractions of China’s most populous province.

Huge illuminated floats and 500 performers will thrill Sydney audiences during the Chinese New Year Twilight Parade. Traditional performance groups, modern street dance, Kung Fu, Henan opera, stunning costumes and representations of Henan’s natural and cultural treasures will give Sydney a unique insight into contemporary and traditional Chinese culture.

Henan is the birthplace of the Yellow Emperor, legendary founder of Chinese civilisation. In the suburbs of its modern capital, Zhengzhou, lie the ancient remains of Anyang, capital of the Shang Dynasty (circa 1600 – 1050BCE).

Both Kung Fu and Zen Buddhism trace their origins to the famous Shaolin Temple, hidden amongst the towering forests of one of China’s 5 sacred mountains, Mount Song.

The visiting performers from Henan are keen to share their incredible culture with Sydney. Come out
