这周把试考完了，终于能坐下来写写这个东西，旨在分享 （敬告：这项运动存在危险性，请大家不要在无专业指导的条件下尝试，谢谢！）

* 笔者语：很久前就打算写这个帖了，目的是让更多的华人朋友了解这个运动在澳洲的情况（其实国内已经发展10多年了，只是两边情况比较不同）。paragliding是从法国起源的，而Hang Gliding则是originated from Australia，相信不少TX也曾看到过甚至尝试过玩这个运动，也相信大家或许有各种各样的疑问（这个东西和降落伞有啥不同？好玩吗？怎么才能这里玩啊？费用高吗？危险吗？...）。希望大家能从这个帖里找到你们期待的答案（我会定期回答一些问题）。这个帖是一个关于personal experience的帖（不是技术探讨），我只是新手novice一个，或许当中会有一些technical的terms，请谅解，主要介绍这项运动在Melbourne的情况，我会当作写飞行日记一样的定期更新，感兴趣的朋友可以follow me,keep updating，不感兴趣的TX们就请见谅，当作路过罢了，当然，给我加点分是无限欢迎啦哈哈

-----------------梦想篇----------------------
曾经有人说过：人类从来就有在天上飞的梦想，从数十年前的飞机发明，到现今的航天科技都一一印证了人类对征服天空的追求。。。说大话了。
只是引用一个圈子里有名DVD的片头对白。
不过回想童年时候确也经常梦想自己能像小鸟一样的在天上飞翔，无数次听到飞机的声音都会抬头追往直至飞机消失在云雾里，心里总有一个问号：到底在天上飞会是怎样的呢？会看到孙悟空吗？当然，长大后第一次的飞机旅程就告诉自己：孙悟空不在天上，而在电视机里。不过也萌生了另外一个问号：如果不坐飞机，能在天上飞吗？那又会是怎样的呢？
这个问号一直埋藏在心底里好久好久。。。一直到第一次尝试paragliding滑翔伞才找到答案。

-----------------追寻篇-----------------------
自从那一次偶然在discover channel发现这个运动时，心里就产生了冲动要去尝试，要去学，要去实现这个多年的梦想
居然，第一次让我接触这个运动是在国内，可惜课程还没完成，PR就下来了，我们也就奔上了赴澳的big adventure了。

-----------------License课程篇---------------
在melbourne settled down后的第一个Xmas,其实就是去年圣诞，我和LP就驾着我们的小小Nissan Pulsar沿着海边，从Melbourne一直head north，途径Sydney，然后到达这个paragliding school的所在地--North Haven,wow!such a good name!是一个30mins drive to Port Macquarie 的度假小镇（沿途的风光驾车旅程实在让人难忘）
废话少说，开始说我的paragliding course吧*
* 在Australia,take a full paragliding course and get a license is a legal requirement before you could fly solo，这个跟国内也一样，必须学课拿执照，和驾驶一样，不过当时还没想像得到这个运动在这里是如此的well regulated
-----[课程的第一天]Day1------
Tandem & Ground Handling
Tandem:就是一个有经验的pilot（教练）带着你一起飞，简单说就是两个人飞，作为passeger的当然是相对要轻松一点，可作为student，我是十分的紧张。
话说回来，虽然在天上飞翔是多年的梦想，但在起飞场等候准备的时候确实scared啊

起飞场的风景是非常的漂亮
这个起飞场是一个风景了望台look out，所以有好些游人，当然我们是最大看点了。

起飞前的准备

这张是前一天拍的，当天LP拍了VIDEO，来不及拍照了
这是我第一尝试tandem，也是第一真正的尝试飞paraglider，当我双脚离地，腾空飞翔的一刻，那种刺激、兴奋、喜悦又害怕的感觉实在太难以形容了，totally beyond description! 而在空中翱翔的感觉也实在是令人毕生难忘！（当然，随着自己飞行的次数多了，这样的兴奋会减弱了）。当天我们飞行了大概有30分钟，教练带着我thermal的好几回，还记得this moment the instructor said 'look at that cloud,we are approaching it', the next moment, I was already touching it! 降落下来后我跟自己说：This is definitely what I want! 我要飞翔！！！
于是艰苦的学习旅途就这样开始了

模拟训练
模拟训练后马上开始了最艰苦的一part--ground handling了，中文叫“抖伞”或者“逗伞”，就是训练地面控伞，在这阶段，主要是为了起飞动作而训练的

刚开始，教练会边解说边从旁协助

大伙多卖力啊，要知道那是大热天，中午2、3点，气温高达38-40度啊

因为之前在国内训练过斗伞，所以当天进步得相对要快一点，曾经airborn了，感觉又是又害怕又爽啊

经过一个下午的训练，略有成效了
*Ground handling不仅是学习时需要训练的，每一个pilot都应该定期训练的。

-----[课程的第二天]Day2------
第二天是个人的solo first flight! 又是那一句：beyond description!实在太难以形容了，第一次自己起飞、控制伞和降落，真正实现自己飞翔的梦想了！
当然，这都是在教练radio instruction下实现的，没有来得及拍照，因为LP太忙了，忙着拍VIDEO，还有就是她自己也大胆的尝试了tandem!

助教从旁协助，游人也当然是看热闹了

-----[课程的第三天]Day3------
今天的目标是尝试inland flight，驾车40分钟到达起飞点，可惜风太大了，所以教练就call it off了
* paragliding是weather dependent的，不是你随时想飞或随处飞的，必须在非禁飞领空，不影响public的地方进行，而且因为这里的地不是national park就是privately own，所以每个起飞场都必须得注册和管制的，这也是这个运动在au well regulated 的一个侧面。而最重要的一个就是必须得在安全的条件下飞行，也就是说在风力、风向是自己能控制的范围内飞行。
虽然内陆飞不成功，但教练带着我们到了一个小型飞机场参观，让我开了不少眼界


忘了这个飞机的名字，当知道它售价是9W dollar，Hmm...one day! aha
旁边还停了好几个型号的飞机，可惜本人知识贫乏，不懂太多，当天看了好多种机型，但记不住它们的名字和具体参数了呵呵（回Mel后也认识了一些也自己弄飞机的朋友,one of them is novice,one of them is a Chinese broke, he must be rich aha)

这个是水上起飞的
* 和我一起学的一个pilot曾经在Austrlia air force学习了7年，可惜由于家庭的commitment放弃了，很是遗憾，现在是在一个学校里当数学老师，当天他可让我懂得了好多好多飞机的知识，他也take one year off to build a plane！哇。。。学开飞机就听不少，要造飞机也才第一次听说！很是佩服。。。参加这个运动至今，实在觉得这个圈子里的人才可多了，而且都是怀着童真和梦想追求的。

当天是Xmas Eve,于是我们也party了一番





这位pilot是一名针灸师，没错，是我们的中医针灸师！他每天早上都打太极1个小时，天气不好就去游泳，很会养生，我也时常收到他到世界各国飞行的分享email,nice guy.

继续coastal soaring...

教训：don't look at the tree, don't look at the tree,don't look at the bloody tree!
每次当我们准备降落时看着身下的bush,就总不免要降落到bush的上面，或者这是潜意识的让你会把glider steer to it!


话没说完，就有一个student降落在我旁边


这个助教是我的好朋友，人很好，是从hang glider转到paraglider来的，说他的Porsche载不上诺大的hang glide ...

Inland Flight
今天的天气终于能我们成功尝试内陆飞行了
* Cross Country飞行（XC）是每个glider pilot的梦想，当然不排除像我这样的newbie，曾多次听到experienced pilots talked about their XC flight和看他们的照片和video就实在太羡慕了，不过这个急不来，需要不断的学习，学习天气和飞行技巧，积累飞行经验和提高judgement水平

-----[课程的第六、七天]Day6、7------
今天天气不好，于是我们就继续进行ground handling训练和理论学习和理论考试
* 我们需要学习的理论远超出了我之前想像的，非常丰富的空气动力学、气象学、飞行基本原理、航空控制order、飞行技巧（paragliding),rules in the air...不过确实增长不少知识，这才意识到这个运动不能光靠一股劲头的，需要花不少精力去学习和积累的，不过也增加了我对它的尊敬。

学校是一个度假house,院子总是有好几个鹦鹉在那玩的，当然，我们考完试也在乐了

-----[课程的第八天]Day8------
Practical test
* 在拿到license之前，必须得飞行一定的次数和飞行时间（sorry,具体的忘了），需要通过theory exam，当然最重要是practical test了，也就是起飞、soaring和降落全靠自己，教练不给任何协助和指示（除非遇到突发情况，以安全为由）当天确实比较紧张，不过当然结果大家也知道了，是通过了，但体验也是难以忘怀的

* 在victoria，paragliding school都在Bright,在vic的东北面，大概4个小时的车程，在我拿到license回到Melbourne后，当然是急着想飞，想到处飞啦哈哈
（今天写得累了，也感谢大家耐心的看，相信也看得累了，take a break,下次再说我回Mel后的飞行体验吧）

Ok, FAQ time.
1. The cost? (I think this is the most popular one)
I would say this is a very good question, you know what, bcos I am not gonna  tell you! Aha…just kidding mate.
actually I would tell you in one go when I finished the post, which means I still have something more to share.
Please bear in mind that we are not talking about something like playing a badminton or table tennis, it’s an aviation sport, so Yes, it’s expensive 
and it’s not something you could throw the money into it once and get a wonderful experience forever, it’s a life long pursuit. Like most of my flying mates in this sport, they started in around 30 years old and finished until they couldn’t handle it, 70? Hey, privacy!

2. How long does it take?
hmm, sounds like relating to the first question, if you are asking about the duration of the license course? I would say generally 7-12 days, depending on the weather and your personal progress. Some people pick up things quicker and some need a bit more time. Like skiing.

3. Am I brave? Are we brave? Or precisely are you scared?
To be honest, I’m scared of height, I could not stand so close to the edge of a high building, I felt dizzy. But I dare to try skydiving, even I haven’t.
So it’s hard to explain. This is a sport you would feel it safer the more you knew about it, that’s why it’s treated as high risk in the public.
Again, I’m not intending to stir anyone to get into this sport whatsoever, besides, I wouldn’t do so, it’s all your call. This is the first judgement you have to make regarding this sport.
In addition, ‘Be scared’ is one of the most essential elements could keep the pilot in this sport. So yes, I’m scared.

4. What else after the course?
wow, heaps! And heaps more!
The course was just a beginning, a tiny part of the pursuit in this sport, but an important part of coz.

I will continue to share some of my flying stories as long as no one banded me or complained. Of coz when I was not going flying 

原文再续就书接上一回，话说...
hey hey，今天早上miss了一次飞行的机会，去Sprivale买菜和把car做service了，希望下午能去Ground Handling.
So what happened after my course? if you are still interested, please follow me.
--------[上树篇]-----------
从NSW驾车返回Melbourne后，第一件事就是等待license card从HGFA寄过来，然后就马上加入本地的Club
* HGFA （Hang Gliding Federation of Australia），http://www.hgfa.asn.au/
这个是regulate我们这个运动以及其他几个滑翔运动(Hang Gliding,Microlight,Power Paragliding,Paragliding)的national body，所有参与这个活动的人必须加入这个组织，进行登记，接受其管理，当然需要交纳年费了（cover third party insurance & soaring magazine subscription)，并按需要拨款给各地的club，例如起飞降落场的rental，场地的maintenance etc...
* Club - 所有在Australia的flying site都是由当地的Club进行管理的，必须加入才能在club管辖范围下的site飞行。各地的club运作情况都不同，我加入的叫Skyhigh Paraglding Club，是Mel最大最活跃的club，每年都有很多的event。 http://skyhighparagliding.org.au/
（这是我觉得这个活动在Australia well regulated的又一个方面，这些组织都是有定期活动的，board/committee member也是定期投票选举的，很体现democracy）
好了，介绍了一通这些与大家无关的沉闷信息后，该说说‘上树’的经过了。

刚好来着的周末是Australia Day long weekend,很多Skyhigh的pilot都决定去Bright度假和飞行，我当然不想miss这个机会啦，于是也马上book了cabbin,等待出发。因为我不在Bright took course, so I had to do some preparation--Ground hanglding，于是出发前一天就选择了最就近的St Kilda Marina park进行斗伞练习。可是当天的风偏大了,about 13-15knots,which I should have not go GH,but as a novice,I made that mistake.于是，当我把wing pull up时，一阵很强的gust就把我往前面的一堆树丛drag过去，忙乱中把brake拉住，可是wing已经落在树丛上了，我也稳稳当当的侧卧在我的harness里了,no injury at all--shit!how can I get my wing down，接着下来，我尝试无数的方法想把wing从数上拿下来，但都fail了，因为tangle太多了，于是我做了一件比较stupid的事，就是把组带riser和lines disconnect了，心想会相对容易点把wing拿下来，事后证明一点用处没帮上，这时天也黑了，经过了2个多小时的努力，毫无进展，于是唯有call救兵，把好朋友David也叫过来了，带上梯子，准备大干一番。。。可是也没能succeed,到最后，是一位住在park旁边的nice broke came down with bear feet,and helped us get the wind down!eventually!Now,it's 10 o'clock! 4-5hrs spent on this tree landing!

就是因为我把riser和lines disconnect，第2天到Bright后，居然花了2个多小时，上10个experienced pilot帮忙才把它们正确的连接回去的（这里不详细解说paraglider的构造原理，不过这些绳带的连接方式是非常非常讲究的，不能有半点的错误，而且需要经验十分丰富的pilot或qualifed person才能弄好，经过测试，all good!）这是我参加Skyhigh以来得到的第一个也是一个印象最深的一次帮忙。

看看这个in a mess的lines！这位pilot人很好，名叫clinton,飞行了9年，对glider的构造很有研究，当天他帮了很关键的忙（也就是他，第2天给我飞了一次tandem,nice!）好朋友David也在旁帮忙


caravan park里的其他pilot也陆续加入帮忙，有来自NZ的visiting pilot（红衣guy,能说一口不错的中文啊），Club的president也来帮忙（只见背影）


确实花了不少脑汁和时间啊，我就只能打下手，帮点小忙了

当天晚上我们也小party了一下，庆祝Austrlia Day


第一天的时间基本就花在untangle my glider上，第2天就真正要试飞Mystic了（是launch site的名称）


到达起飞场，已经有一些pilot在enjoying了，可是风较弱，而且我没有在这里试过forward launch，于是club president就call off my solo launch了（有点失望），但惊喜是可以尝试tandem（就是那位pilot Clinton 和我一起飞--可是免费哦 ）

虽然已经尝试过，但起飞前还是有一点紧张，毕竟是新场地


run run run!一下子我们就launch successfully了。我们当天飞行了38分钟，Clinton showed me a lot about the thermal and the terrain，我也像took course时那样，took control for a bit while，但内陆飞行和coastal是截然不同，very bumpy and rough! nothing like coastal.我要提高内陆飞行的skills!


看见另外一个novice在飞（所有的novice都必须在wing上attach a streamer to distinguish for safety purpose），真羡慕啊


终于降落了，当然要卖力帮忙fold wing,pack up啦，看了一下数据，max climb rate was 4m/s, sink rate was 2m/s,not that bad.


在head off前努力练习了一下forward launch，热啊，汗啊，累啊。。。

Yes. I think he would learn it in the future and hope he can teach me one day. He dare not to try bumgy jumping and sky diving, but very enjoy the paragliding and told me he never had such fun before. :)

I am from Guangdong too, have spent over 10 yrs in GZ.

The vedio was taken in Auckland, NZ. a place must be reached by 4WD via the sand.

Acutally I tried a simple version of this paragliding once in DuanHuang many yrs ago, over the dunes, for only 10RMB. That was not safe enough if looking back. But since it was over the sand dunes, so wouldn't hurt much even fall down. And not high as well. That was all by myself - not sure why those guys can let novice try their first time on their own - but glad they did so. I still remember that very clearly becasue it was exactly the same as in my dream before - I guess a lot of people had flying dreams.

Next time when u r flying and if I am available, would like to see ur flight.

Yes, paragliding in China had developed for 11 years, but the regulations back there is not enough as I reckon, and far from the point which could compare with those in Au(as I had taken a full course back in GZ before), the safety is the biggest issue back there. However, in terms of the passion, there's no difference anywhere, that's why so many pilots travel around the world to fly. Personally I had met pilots from Germany, Switzerland, NZ, Japan, UK, HK. we all share the same passion, and bcos of that, we all easily become good friends as we are sharing something deep in our hearts. yep, you spot on the money, that's our dream. Now, my dream is one day when I was experienced enough, I would travel around the world and do XC tandem with my wife

No wonder I had never seen that coastal site in your video hmm...A big number of the flying sites in Vic is 2wd accessible while some are 4WD only, so I'm saving up to get my first SUV here, hopefully in 2010,just had joined the mortgage slave community
About dune launch,it's permitted in limited places,bcos we need to take care of the vegetation. I will show you some pics later when I did a dune launch in Portsee the other day, it was fun,but dangerous,good GH skills is essential for that.
And one more reminder: You are safe when high, and in danger when low:)

BTW: the wind in St Kilda was too light and too cross, not that much fun with my GH just then, lucky I packed my wing up just before the rain came down, would have been caught if I did it 1 mins later
