Your GP will request "T1 MSS - First trimester maternal serum screening". The blood will be sent to the lab and tested for PAPPA and HCG, the result will be stored in their computer. After your ultrasound, the doctor will send the ultrasound reading CRL and NT together with your weight to the lab. The computer will calculate your baby's risk for Down's syndrom. The result will be sent to the ultrasound doctor and the referral doctor (your GP or obstetrician). Your doctor usually get the result within one hour after scan. If you have your ultrasound at a bulk billing radiology, you need to go back to your GP for the result. If you have the scan at the obstetric ultrasound, you can wait for the result there. |
