Police have launched a murder investigation after the bodies of a family were discovered in a suburban Sydney home.
A mother and her two sons, aged 12 and nine, were found along with the bodies of a 46-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman in the house in Boundary Road, North Epping on Saturday morning.
Another member of the family made the gruesome discovery before alerting emergency services.
Police said the incident was "domestic related" but have not issued further details.
Shocked neighbours said the Asian family seemed very nice.
"They're a family of five, their kids went to the local school," neighbour Pamela Burgess said.
"They were very nice, they were normal."
Ms Burgess said she did not see or hear anything wrong during the past 48 hours.
"I bump into them from time to time and nothing seemed out of the ordinary," she said.
Police said the cause of the deaths had yet to be established.
"A crime scene was established by police from Eastwood Local Area Command, with inquiries underway into the circumstances surrounding the incident," a police statement said.
"The State Crime Command's Homicide Squad is in attendance to assist with the investigation.
"A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
"A canvass is being conducted of the neighbourhood and members of the public with information about the deaths are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
