not a good idea~~~~ in the past previous years (before 2004 or 2005) overseas beneficiary doesnt need to pay tax and also the money ar not necessary to be paid to overseas beneficiaries (for example, you allocate 30% the trust income to an overseas beneficiary, but in fact, you keep the money in Australia. This is the big reason why Australian prefer to setup the trust structure)
however, the policy changed quickly since ATO discovered this is a big black hole for avoiding tax etc..... then they introduce the tax system on this problem, the overseas beneficiaries need to pay the top income tax rate.... then you get no benifit from doing this..... |
