LIFE

Unless

Life is precious not for the dull pleasures.
Life is precious for the opportunity to try to understand life.

Only strangers will think about the traces that you leave.
The window on life will close, never to open again.

Life is very, very,  precious.
Life is infinitely precious.
Life is the only thing which is precious.
Just don't waste your life.
Don't waste any life.
Use the precious life that you have to try to understand the world.
Experience the world as much as possible.

There is no god.
But life is infinitely sacred.
Meditate on life, not on fantasy beings.
Have the courage to see life for what it is, and see how short it is.
Everything you have now is gone in 100 years.
You are already dead to all of the future generations.
So think about what you leave behind.
Think about the range of experiences you want to have while you can.

The better your life is, the more you have to lose.
When life is best, that is when life is saddest.

Contemplate life, because life is real.
Contemplate life through your own eyes.

Unless

Think about all the effort you put into getting a better life.
If you are halfway through your life,
and you are still putting all your effort into getting a better life,
then you should pause for a while and try to appreciate your world.

If you can, take months or years to stop and think.
Don't waste time reading religious texts.
Just think deeply about what you want in life,
and realise that even if you achieve it, you are going to lose it again.

All of life's prizes are like sports prizes which you have to give back at the end of the year.
Everything you obtain in life will be lost.
So appreciate your prizes while you hold them.
You can't keep life's prizes.
They are all on temporary loan.
When you are trying very hard to achieve something for a long time, realise that you will lose it all.
