38th Australian National Go Championships
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December, 2015
The Boardroom, Saint Leo’s College, University of Queensland
College Road, Saint Lucia, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
Registration: RSVP to Horatio Davis at the Queensland Go Society(horatio@go.org.au, 0466 983 474). Registration is $60 before 15 November 2015, $70 after ($50 and $40 for students and juniors),includes lunch, tea and coffee, does not include pair go or tournament dinner. Pay on the day.
Competitors must be current members of their national go association: for Australians, this is the AGA, their vice-president will sign you up on the day for $10 if your club hasn’t taken care of it for you.
National Championship: a tournament in six rounds over two days. Open division A (1d to 7d) for
the Australian Champion, handicap division B (1k to 20k) for the Australian Kyu Champion. Swiss
draw, AGA tie-breaking, Japanese rules, scoring. 75 minutes main time with 5 x 30 seconds byoyomi,
game clocks will start when the round starts.
Pair Go Competition: an ad hoc tournament on the Saturday evening to determine the Australian
pair go champions. Competition starts after round 3 of the national championship finishes.
Registration is a separate $10 including pizza and soft drinks for dinner during round 1. This event is
run by Yoko Usami (y.usami@rwsp.net), contact her if you (and another competitor) want to enter.
Tournament Dinner: there are tables reserved from 7:30pm on the evening of Friday 4th
December, reserved at Saint Lucy Caffè e Cucina 800 metres from the venue. RSVP by email to
horatio@go.org.au by November 25 if you’d like to join us for dinner. Dutch treat.
Guest Professional Players: An Younggil 8p (Hangkuk Kiwon) is the Australian national coach and
professional-in-residence at the Sydney Go Club. As tournament referee, he will adjudicate disputes. In
between rounds, he will teach. Two other professional players (names to be advised) will join us from
Korea as teachers, reviewing tournament games and playing exhibition simultaneous matches.

all three professionals’ domestic travel and accommodation
