我最喜欢的乐队之三 - 民谣三重唱Peter Paul And Mary，最优美的和声

有空我会介绍些美国的民谣歌手与乐队，象Bob Dylan，Joan Baez，The Weavers等，不过这里先介绍最发烧的Peter Paul And Mary， 他们的名字对于大多数中国听众可能有点陌生，但是说起他们的那些名曲，相信熟悉西方流行歌曲的人都耳熟能详，象什么500 miles, Puff (the magic dragon), lemon Tree等。 我最初听他们的歌的时候还在读初中，基本上我都是跟着这些歌学英语的，那时还不知道他们的大名，就知道那些是著名的美国民歌。他们的歌不但好听，而且纯净的歌声与和声的层次感加上简单的木吉他伴奏，使得他们的很多唱片成为发烧碟，其中这张是最著名的，音色厚润，结像力奇佳，列名TAS天碟榜。




（转自VERYCD)有些人唱歌是为了名利，有些人屹立歌坛，欲为了一份执着的理想，希望透过自己的歌声，传递他们坚决相信真理。在美国的现代民歌史上，曾经有许多著名的艺人与团体，都是以鲜明的政治色彩而著名，包括Pete Seeger，Peter, Paul & Mary三重唱，Bob Dylan 和Joan Baez 等等，都是最标准的例证。他们透过歌唱与实际的行动，狂热的宣扬反战的理念，即使备受争议，甚至遭到逮捕，也在所不惜。事隔多年之后，他们都已经不再年轻，除了其中年龄最大，资历也最久的Pete Seeger，因为已经将近九十岁而减少公开演唱，Bob Dylan与Joan Baez也不再像过去那样热衷于政治，可是，早已当爷爷，奶奶的Peter, Paul & Mary却依然不改初衷，仍然非常积极的继续宣扬他们的理念，而且不但唱给昔日的歌迷与群众听，还透过活泼可爱的包装，把是非对错的观念传递给新生代的儿童，堪称非常少见的特例。他们曾经在90年代为公共电视网举办过一场亲子演唱会的特别节目，许多当年听着他们歌曲长大的人，都带着稚龄的孩子，"三代同堂"地前去观赏。节目一开头，他们就唱出脍炙人口的Puff, the Magic Dragon，以及一系列幽默，风趣的歌曲，然后不着痕迹的带来 If I Had a Hammer 等经典，教得孩子们一起来对抗世界所有的不平。

Peter, Paul & Mary 是上世纪60年代最受欢迎的民谣组合，后来的几十年也证明了他们是音乐历史上生命最长久的团体之一。他们的根比任何一个民谣团体都要扎得深，他们的影响力所波及的听众群是其他民谣团体可望不可及的。这个三人组合在他们的传奇生涯中共获得了5个格来美奖，发行了5张Top 10专辑，6张金唱片和3张白金唱片。Peter, Paul & Mary 由 Peter Yarrow，Paul Stookey 和 Mary Travers 组成，他们原来分别活跃于音乐界，在一段几乎有如传奇的历程之后，在后来 Bob Dylan 的经纪人 Grossman 的建议下，正式组成三重唱。1962年五月，他们首度以 Lemon Tree 打进排行，一炮而红，接着又以老前辈 Pete Seeger 的 If I Had a Hammer 得到了排行的第十名，同时荣获“最佳合唱团体”和“最佳民歌录音”等两项格莱美奖。这是他们自己最钟爱的歌曲之一，对政治，对世情都提出了批判，也树立起后来他们许多"抗议"歌曲的模式。事实上，他们三个人之所以能够情投意合，除了音乐上的理念相近，更因为他们对于政治的思想都一致。他们不但在歌曲中唱出自己的想法，还经常一起积极的去参与各种群众运动，而且数十年如一日，并不像许多人那样，在稍微上了点年纪之后就冷谈下来。而出了本身的创作，他们还独具慧眼的采用了好些“新人”的作品，包括Bob Dylan，John Denver和来自加拿大的Gordon Lightfool 等等，就是因为Peter, Paul & Mary 率先唱红了他们的作品，才开始引起广泛注意的。

主要是LAST WALTZ, CHANGING PARTNER, 和I WENT TO YOUR WEDDING这几首歌都是当时跳舞必备的舞曲，每次爸妈跳舞就放这几首
