A Qantas spokeswoman said if customers had booked Qantas domestic or international flights through Bestjet, they should contact the airline on 13 13 13 and quote their booking reference number.
Virgin Australia also advised people who booked international flights with the airline departing from February 1 to contact them on 13 67 89 to check the status of their booking.
A VA spokeswoman said guests booked for travel through Bestjet on Virgin Australia flights prior to 1 February 2019, or on domestic flights, should not be impacted.
She said if the guest chooses to re-book, Virgin Australia will offer the fare price that would have been available at the guest’s original time of booking.
A spokesman for Singapore Airlines said they had been advised by Bestjet.com’s ticketing agent that they have cancelled tickets issued on or after 29 October 2018 for departures from 1 February 2019 to 30 November 2019.
He said customers who begin their travel in December 2018 and January 2019 should not be affected by these cancellations. Similarly, customers whose tickets were issued on or prior to 28 October 2018 for travel from 1 February 2019 to 30 November 2019 should not be affected.
For those who have had tickets cancelled and bookings remain in-place, he said the airline would honour the Singapore Airlines airfare charged for the itinerary when booked. However, this airfare may be slightly different to Bestjet.com’s charges as the agent regularly sold airfares below market.
The airline advised anyone who booked through Bestjet.com for travel on Singapore Airlines to contact our Reservations Office on 13 10 11 to check the status of their booking and ticket. |
