As the Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for the efficient supply and quality of all materials used in the manufacturing operation in the most cost-effective manner.
Managing supplier relationships is a crucial component of this role and therefore strong communication, people skills and professional presentation are essential.
Knowledge of importing materials from overseas is an important requirement to be successful in this role so candidates will need to have experience in this area.
Other associated duties will include;
Create purchasing order according engineering spec.
Follow up outstanding purchasing order, check the status and leading date of the purchasing order
Input the delivered parts/invoice to manager system
Help to manager purchasing documents.
Prefer to be able to communicate with oversea factory (mainly China)
Preparing spare parts orders
Ensuring building and machinery maintenance is completed as per schedule
Reviewing the high dollar value indents daily and shipment progress reports
Working harmoniously with the Inventory and Warehouse Controller
Along with the above-mentioned requirements, it would be advantageous if applicants are familiar with grades of steel and have a basic understanding of CAD drawings.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills particularly with Outlook, Word and Excel are mandatory.
