整理email信箱,发现一个agent在面试前给我发来的问题单子,嘱咐我练熟了再去面试。那么也贴在这里和大家分享吧
What motivates you?
Where do you see your career developing to over the next 3-5 years?
What are the three most significant achievements that you have made in each of the last 2 positions?
How do you handle conflict?
Would you say that you are more process or analytically focused? Justify this to me.
What is the most significant challenge that you have had to overcome in your career to date?
How would your previous managers describe your key competencies?
How do you perform when put under pressure by senior management?
Give me an example of an occasion when you have influenced senior management.
How would your previous/current direct reports describe your management style?
Describe a difficult situation that you have had to overcome when dealing with non-finance managers?
Why do you want to work for (employer name)?
Why should the employer employ you over another individual with equivalent qualifications and experience?
The best way to answer these questions is to describe a specific example that demonstrates your ability in that area using the "STAR" technique to structure your response:
S – Situation
T – Task
A – Action
R – Result
So in answering the above question, an appropriate response may go something like this:
"The situation at XYZ Company when I first joined was that all employees had authority to order stationary. This created problems such as over supply, duplication, numerous invoices to different suppliers, inability to negotiate preferable pricing. One of my tasks as Finance Manager was to implement effective controls and improve our purchasing so the action I took was to immediately implement a policy whereby all stationary orders had to be placed via one person who had authority to place and authorise orders. Any specific/unusual orders were to be signed off by me. I took the time to gain the buy-in of management and then all employees so that everyone was happy to adhere to the new policy. The result was great – no more duplicated orders and a far more attractive purchasing rate by using one supplier exclusively".
See how tight the response is? This answer clearly demonstrates the individual's ability to decisively and collaboratively solve a business problem. The answer is also very succinct which means the interviewer is more likely to tune in to the entire response. The interviewer can then drill down further to obtain more detail around the "how's" and "why's" of the example.
Great answers to interview questions are:
Ø Relevant
Ø Succinct
Ø Able to show clearly what you did and how you did it
Ø Delivered with an appropriate level of energy and enthusiasm
Ø Not "waffly"!
This is quite a task but if you spend the time you will find that your responses to interview questions and appropriate examples will be on the tip of your tongue during the interview. |
