一个语法问题

有这么一段话：

It seems unlikely that we'll see UFO's invade the earth, a time machine, or robots that look exactly the same as humans - at least in our lifetime - but as the drawings of Da Vinci prove, given enough time, and the right technology, even the most fantastic of ideas can come true.

其它都没问题，就是不明白 “UFO's invade the earth” 中那个 ‘s 在这是做什么用的？

名词短语，没有这个's，后面的invade就应该加ing变成动名词了吧，变成see someone doing sth。现在这样就是see something。看见ufo侵略地球。

那“名词短语” 中就要用动词原形吗？还是不很清楚。。。

原谅我榆木。可以再解释一下吗？那个撇是干什么用的。。。

If you don't know how to make a word plural, check the dictionary.
The Basics

• Most nouns are made plural simply by adding an s to the end.
• For words that end in ch, x, s or s-like sounds, you will need to add an es.
• The above two rules apply to proper names.
• If the word ends in y with a consonant before the y, change the y to ie and add an s. If there is a vowel before the y, simply add s.
• Some plurals will need to be memorized because the ending of the word is changed (knife/knives or child/children)
• The only time an apostrophe is used to make a plural is when you are using lower case letters as a word unto themselves, such as "The typewriter isn't making n's anymore." see UFO's invade .... 一点问题都没有。see me fly , i'm proud to fly up high,歌词都唱滥了，仅凭语感就能判断对错。

你要说 see sb. doing something. 似乎语法也没错，但是要表达这个概念用watch sb. doing sth. 更常见一些。

你问的是UFO's里的 's  是什么，那是复数无疑。仅回答你这个问题。

至于该不该加这个 apostrophe ，那是另一个问题。基本上主张有加的，也有认为不加的，还没定论谁是对的谁是错的。属于同时并存的状态。

作为英语为第二语言的移民，我不认为我们能给这个语法争议做裁判，加不加这个一撇，随你喜好。

'S是＂什么什么的＂意思吧。比如mary's friend。这里的invade是不是可以做名词用。如果是名词才是正确的语法，否则应该加ing改成动名词才对。我刚才查了好像invade没有名词的用法。

See sb. Doing Sth主要表达的是看这个结果，watch是不是主要表达看这个过程呀。我的理解而已。几十年了，很多都还给老师了。大家讨论讨论吧。

大家一讨论，就清楚很多。原来老师教的是复数只有letters and numbers can be written using apostrophes.
比如，7's or x's

但是现在看来有UFO's也可以；CD's也可以。。。
