What you'll be doing To provide high quality professional health care interpreting services to facilitate communication between health care providers and patients and to support equity and access to health care services for patients/clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds or the Deaf community. Essential Criteria: Qualification: Relevant NAATI credentials (Certified or Certified Provisional Interpreter). Selection Criteria: Fluency and literacy in English and relevant community language(s) and NAATI Interpreter Certification. Recognition may be accepted for languages not yet tested by NAATI Demonstrated capacity to interpret in all medical settings including sound knowledge of medical terminology Ability to identify and convey the social and cultural factors affecting health care to ensure high quality performance Ability to identify ethical dilemmas and deal with them in compliance with the AUSIT Code of Ethics High level interpersonal and communication skills as well as conflict resolution skills.
