read from somewhere... for these who need... If your pet isn't already desexed, now is the time to take action! August is National Desexing Month and organisations such as the RSPA in NSW are offering free desexing of female cats or dogs who have already had a litter. In Sydney, the Animal Welfare League Western Suburbs is offering desexing in August to low income earners and pensioners, at a reduced rate of $50 for dogs and $30 for cats, saving up to $150 on the usual price. As you know, it's very important to desex your pet unless you are a registered breeder planning on breeding your dog/cat. Even if you didn't plan on breeding your pet, accidents do happen and you may end up with an unwanted litter. Thousands of helpless animals are being put down at shelters across Australia so we need to do what we can to alleviate the situation. Many vets usually discount this procedure to mark this month, so keep an eye out in your local papers! For further information phone the National Desexing Network on 1300 368 992. |
