New ticket offers cheap travel for families

FAMILIES will have unlimited travel on Sundays for $2.50 a person under a new scheme announced yesterday.

The Family Funday Sunday fare will apply to all bus, train and ferry services and will be available to parents and grandparents with at least one child.

The $2.50 ticket is available only on Sundays and will entitle holders to unlimited travel.

"Families are much better off - some $30 better off than the previous daytripper ticket - and it will enable them to get around to the cultural institutions, the art galleries, the museums, the historic sites around Sydney and get to the national parks," the Premier, Nathan Rees, said.

"It's just $2.50 to get you on to a bus, train, ferry or any combination of the above."

The Transport Minister, David Campbell, admitted the scheme would rely on commuters' honesty and said officers would check tickets in a "sensitive manner". Mr Campbell joked that parents would not have to show birth certificates to claim the ticket.

"There is a sense of honesty involved in this, as there always is when people pay for their tickets for public transport," he said.

Mr Rees said the scheme was designed to increase patronage on pubic transport.

"And there will certainly be more visitors to our institutions and that's certainly a good thing," he said.

什么时候开始阿，假想，有了这个，我们就周日没事出去坐车，不过不知道周日博物馆，画院啥的都开门吗？另外去这些地方是不是还要另外花门票钱那？

Families will be able to use public transport on Sundays for just $2.50 per ticket under a new NSW government transport initiative.

NSW Premier Nathan Rees said families would be able to travel anywhere in Sydney by bus, ferry or train for $2.50 per family member every Sunday from December 21.

"The family Funday Sunday will save a family of four $30 by replacing the current daytripper ticket," he said.

"Families can leave the car at home, easing weekend traffic congestion.

"Here's a way that families can go out together and have a fun day without spending too much money."

The scheme covers Sydney as well as regional areas including Bathurst, Dungog and Goulburn as well as the central coast and the Illawarra.

Tickets will be available from 7-Eleven convenience stores, train and ferry ticket windows and bus drivers.

成年男（父）+成年女（母）+孩子=> family
成年男+成年女 => couple
以上不是等号。反正，没有孩子的couple，一般都不叫family。

不生孩子的人应该都算孩子,

小两口,光有纳税的义务, , 什么好事都摊不上, 这也算一种歧视.

这可真是个好消息啊！本来就打算放假以后带女儿多逛逛美术馆，博物馆，Sydney Tower等地呢，这下还能省票钱，这个假期可有得玩了。不知道老人算不算家庭成员？
