Violent Sydney robbery could leave man blind April 7, 2010 - 6:15AM
A man could be left blind in one eye after being bashed and robbed by three men in Sydney's south-west.
The 43-year-old man was walking home on Evaline Street, Campsie, about 9pm yesterday, when three men ran towards him.
One man allegedly punched him in the head, seriously injuring his right eye.
The victim passed out and when he came to he realised his bag, wallet and mobile phone had been stolen, police said.
He was taken to Sydney Eye Hospital for emergency surgery to save his eye.
The first attacker has been described as being of Pacific Islander appearance, wearing a white shirt and dark shorts, while the second had a large build and wore an orange shirt.
The third man is described as wearing dark clothing.
