著名导演James Cameron和摄像师Vince Pace合资开办的Cameron Pace Group在墨尔本成立了其海外第一家3D电影工作室。这家落户在墨尔本Preston地区的工作室将提供用来制作3D电影电视，以及实况转播体育比赛的3D器材。
曾经执导Avatar和Titanic的喀麦隆导演希望其公司能够帮助电影电视制作人更简便地采用3D技术。CPG澳洲执行董事表示，墨尔本工作室的成立意味着澳洲电影制作人能够用上电影Avatar中的技术。
工作室选址在墨尔本还得益于其举办的诸多国际赛事，包括墨尔本杯赛马和一级方程式赛车。
工作室日后还将开设3D放映室，向公众展示公司的产品。

ACADEMY Award-winning director James Cameron has opened the first international office of his 3D production business in Melbourne.
The office in Preston will provide 3D equipment for film and television projects and live sports broadcasting.
Cameron, who was in Sydney yesterday working on an underwater documentary, said 3D would grow rapidly in television programs and sport broadcasting.

The director of blockbusters Avatar and Titanic opened the office with cinematographer Vince Pace.
Cameron said he hoped the company, Cameron Pace Group, would make it easier for television and filmmakers to adopt 3D technology. ''We just want to put tools in their hands,'' he said.
Andrew Wight, producer of 3D feature Sanctum, was appointed managing director of CPG's Australian office. He said the company would allow filmmakers in Australia to use the same technology Cameron used in Avatar. He said Melbourne was chosen because it was home to many international sporting events, including the Melbourne Cup and grand prix. Its filmmaking community had also ''embraced'' 3D technology, he said.
The Preston site includes office and warehouse space where the company will store 3D cameras, production and servicing equipment.
''We'll also be setting up a 3D screen room so people can come and see examples of our work,'' Mr Wight said. |
